How would one use the word “apropos” in a sentence?

I’ve seen this word many times, but I can’t acquire any set definition to latch on to. Maybe if I have a concrete example of how to use it, I could integrate it into my vocabulary. Thanks for all who help ahead of time!

it’s french; “on the subject of…..”. for example “apropos yesterday’s conversation I’ve been thinking….”
