Tub Bench

I need help with this question, to me it is hard. Thanks to who ever helps me.?

Jerg is finishing the sides and bottom of a hot tub. The hot tub is 6′11″ long, 5′6″ wide, and 3′ deep. It has a bench going all the way around the inside that is 16″ high and 15″ wide that will not be finished. How much finishing material will Jerg need?

a) The area of the four sides to be finished is 2(6′11″ X 5′6″) X 3′ . (This means the perimeter multiplied by 3′ deep), minus 2(6′11″ X 5′6″) X 16″ (which is perimeter multiplied by the hight of the bench).

B The area of the bottom to be finished will be 6′11″ X 5′6″ ( this means length by width)
Adding both you will get the total surface to be finished.

Now, there are somee thinggs that are not said here. #1 You cannot say the amount of material needed is you don’t know how much material will covered each sq, foot or each sq, inch.

Another very confusing part is that they don’t say whether the bench just protudes from the walls or goes all the way to the bottom. This would make a very important difference, unless in the place where live, it is assumed that the bench always protudes.
